Personal profile

Research interests

My primary research focus lies within the field of psychosocial work environment. I am particularly interested in investigating positive factors in the psychosocial work environment, such as workers' commitment to the workplace and their experience of meaning at work. My research is based on an expectation that positive factors in the psychosocial work environment will influence the health, well-being and job satisfaction of employees. Consequently, it is contended that employee-wellbeing will reduce the risk of long-term sickness absence and early retirement.

I am furthermore engaged in the development of methods to conceptualise and ‘measure’ the psychosocial working environment. I am currently engaged in a project where we aim to update NRCWE's questionnaire on psychosocial work environment.

Finally, I am engaged in some projects on social capital - both in relation to the measurement of social capital and in relation to investigate and develop methods to maintain and develop social capital in workplaces.
